Episode 47: Home

One Week Later.
McNeal Residence | Brindleton Bay.

1531 South Sable Square, otherwise known as the McNeal Residence, was an old (renovated) farmhouse with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a huge backyard. It was the house Camilla grew up in. Where she spent her entire life. She loved that house. There were so many memories, good ones … but that didn’t stop her from moving, against her parents’ wishes, to a whole new city, the minute she graduated college.

She arrived in town late that evening, just in time for dinner, which judging from the aroma that made it’s way all the way outside, her mom had already taken care of. She took a deep breath and crossed her fingers before heading inside.

Camilla: Mama? I’m here. Where are you?
Bridgette: [yells from the kitchen] In the kitchen!

She put her suitcase down and looked over her outfit. She forgot to change before she left for the airport. Shoot, she’s gonna say something about my shorts.

Bridgette: [yells from the kitchen] Come on, Cami!
Camilla: Sorry, I’m coming.

When she reached the kitchen, she was surprised to see her dad standing there with open arms. This time of year, he was usually on his annual fishing trip with his other retired military buddies. She thought for sure, it would just be her and her mom. She was so glad it wasn’t. She ran over and gave him a big hug.

Camilla: Hey, Daddy!
James: Hey, Pumpkin! [squeezes tight] I’ve missed you so much.
Camilla: Me too. I thought you were on your trip?
James: And miss your visit? No way.
Camilla: [big smile]
Bridgette:
Alright, alright, that’s enough. [motions for her to come over] Come on over here so we can eat and you can tell us all about what you’ve been up to in San Myshuno in those little behind shorts.
James, stern: Bridgette, she’s been here for five minutes.
Bridgette, innocent: It was just an observation, James, calm down. [pats the chair] Sit down, Cami, I want to hear everything.
Camilla, nervous: … Okay.
