A Few Days Later.
Camilla still didn’t know what to do about her and Salim but she put that problem on hold for a bit to deal with her other one. Ever since she took that test, a few days ago, it was all she could think about anyway so she had no real brainpower left for him right now. Even though she felt like she thought up every possible outcome, good and bad, she still couldn’t make a decision on it. She needed some advice or at least someone to listen to her think out loud.
Cassandra sat across from her, watching her trace the rim of her coffee mug, over and over and over again. Whatever this advice was she needed, must be big cause that coffee was cold and she was pretty sure the tip of her finger was numb by now.
Cassandra: It’s Salim, right?
Camilla: [snaps back to reality] What?
Cassandra: You said you needed to talk about something and you two are still broken up so I’m assuming that’s what you wanted to talk about.
Camilla: Oh .. no … so … I’m pregnant …
Cassandra, shocked: Wow! I did not see that coming.
Camilla: [nervous laugh] Yeah … me either …
Cassandra: So did you tell him?
Camilla: [shakes head] No and I’m not going to … I’m not keeping it … at least that’s what I’m leaning towards … that’s what I need advice on.
Cassandra: Well you know this goes way beyond my expertise [laughs] but I think you should do what’s best for you, Camilla.
Camilla: [sighs] That’s what I’m trying to do, it’s just so much to consider. I mean, we’re not even together right now and what if we don’t get back together? Then there’s this whole family he’s already having with Aahana, I don’t wanna be stuck being a single mom or trying to fight to make sure my baby gets the same attention as hers since they’ll be damn near the same age, but then what if we do get back together? We’re not ready for a baby.
Cassandra: Then I think you already know what’s best for you.
Camilla: Yeah …
Cassandra: But, whatever you do decide, you know I got your back.
Camilla: [smiles] I know.
