Magnolia Medical Center.
The next two days flew by fast. Way faster than she wanted them to. The whole time she felt like she was just going through the motions, on autopilot really. Even that morning was a blur. It’s like she woke up, Cassandra was at her door then they were at the clinic, nothing in between.
She sat on a bench in front of the building for a few minutes. She wasn’t having second thoughts or anything. She made a logical decision. One that was best for her. She knew this. She just didn’t want to go inside yet.
Cassandra stood on the other side of her, keeping track of the time. She wanted to give her some space but it was 10:17 and the facility had a you-need-to-reschedule-if-you’re-more-than-20-minutes-late policy so they really needed to get going.
Cassandra, gentle: Hey … are you ready to go inside? We don’t have to if you don’t want to. It’s perfectly fine if you changed your mind, I just don’t want you to miss your time if you haven’t.
Camilla: No … I haven’t … I’m ready.
