2020’s almost over and I’m equal parts relieved and excited…
The relief comes from wanting to move past this tumultuous year on to a new one that hopefully provides us some comfort and at least a little hope for the future. The excitement comes from the plans and goals I have for this blog.
If you’ve been around long enough, you know that the updates here come few far and between (sorry!) Most of it is because I’m a mom who has a long list of responsibilities (as I’m sure you all do too) but also because I run two sims blogs over on Tumblr and I’m always creating content for at least one (sometimes both) of them, leaving me not much time/energy for this place. I want to change that though and am currently brainstorming ways to streamline my process so that I can do everything.
While I do that though, I would like to provide some status updates on the current content of this blog as well as some new additions and a few goals I’d like to meet for the upcoming year:
Both of my stories, Suspicion in San Myshuno and Graylight: The Return are on hold for the foreseeable future. As much as I love crafting stories for these characters, storytelling via The Sims takes up — all of my free time — and I just don’t have the time to dedicate to it anymore. I won’t say they’re cancelled because again, I do enjoy telling these stories, it’s just not something that I can stay on top of right now.
Mod Recommendations + Tutorials.
I will be writing more of this type of content especially for things like: pregnancy, family, kids, etc… I’ve also been doing a lot of gameplay with a family I love, you can check that out on my gameplay blog here if you’re interested, which has given me so much inspiration for things to write about here, so expect to see more of it in the future!
This is something that I’ve been working on in my spare time that I haven’t quite finished — but don’t worry, it will happen! So you can expect to see guides on setting up screenshots, a compilation of editing resources, amongst other things I think will come in handy for those just getting started with storytelling or those who would like to broaden their experience.
Gameplay Ideas + CC Compilation Posts:
According to the results of my poll (feel free to vote if you haven’t already), gameplay ideas and CC compilation posts are things you would like to see on this blog so you can expect to see those types of posts soon!
Ask India (name subject to change):
A new question/answer column about things like gameplay advice, how to… with mods and basically anything Sims 4 related that you find yourself needing direction on. I answer questions like this all the time over on Tumblr but I think it would be beneficial to everyone to have it in a more ‘official’ place that’s much easier to navigate than it is now. I would also like to open the floor to non-Tumblr users who may have questions that they aren’t quite sure where to look for an answer or they’ve tried looking but can’t seem to find exactly what they’re looking for.
If you would like to submit a question to be answered/published in this column (no personal information will be included), please drop it below. The goal is to have this column published weekly with the first one coming as soon as I get enough entries 😊
Better Posting Schedule.
The biggest struggle I have with this blog is my non-existent posting schedule. I would like to get organized enough to have content posted on a regular (predictable) schedule so that’s something I’m working on.
Communication on this blog is another thing that’s non-existent and for that, I apologize. I’m so used to Tumblr being my home that I tend to post updates over there but I never think to notify my subscribers who may not be Tumblr users. This is something I will do better with starting with this post.
Also, hi new subscribers! Thank you for joining and I hope you’re enjoying your stay! ♥
And I think that’s it! I hope you all have happy and safe holidays and I’ll see you in the new year!
